Exciting news: SocialEngine Self-Hosted 7.2.0 is now released

SocialEngine Self-Hosted 7.2.0

SocialEngine has officially released the Self-Hosted 7.2.0 version, delivering a significant upgrade packed with new features, enhancements, and bug fixes to improve user experience for both site owners and community members.


🔧 New Features

  1. A refresh option is now available in SE captcha.

  2. Member-level based block settings have been introduced in the admin panel.

  3. A new search option for the "Do not sell my personal information" setting is added.

  4. Comment ordering options in the activity feed have been revamped.

  5. Users can now translate content directly within the activity feed.

  6. The Cryptocurrency Payment Gateway now supports multiple admin-configurable cryptocurrencies at checkout.

  7. Wallet and support links are now integrated into the mobile app interface.

  8. Users can also view their wallet amount beneath their username in the mobile dashboard.


🚀 Improvements

  1. Login and signup feeds have been recreated for smoother interaction.

  2. Videos shared through the activity feed now display properly within it.

  3. The design of feed filters and text in membership subscription popups has been updated.

  4. Improvements in support ticket notifications, message sorting, and better visibility of recent messages were also made.


🛠️ Bug Fixes

Over 30 bugs were addressed, including:

  1. Search issues with events and groups.

  2. Broken UI elements and functionality in group/topic management.

  3. Errors related to location, Google reCAPTCHA, and YouTube video links.

  4. UI inconsistencies in mobile apps and themes like Elpis and Harmony.

  5. Issues with uploading media, profile questions during sign-up, and link formatting in posts.


🔄 Upgrading & Installation

Clients with access to version 6 can now download 7.2.0 from the client dashboard. Those upgrading from versions earlier than v6 should follow special upgrade instructions and apply necessary patches. Backup of files and databases is strongly recommended before performing an upgrade.
